beginning_php thread: Testing installation problem

Message #1 by Jasper Bowditch <jas@h...> on Mon, 11 Feb 2002 10:42:22 +0000

Hi there,

I have just installed PHP4 on PWS (win98) according to the first chapter of

the "Beginning PHP4" book..

I have saved the phpinfo.php in my local root folder.

When I try and access it via my browser, Instead of getting the PHP info

screen, I simply get the option to open/save the phpinfo.php script..

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jas

You need to add the .php extension to PWS as pages to parse.

There's a server management page in PWS where you adminster PWS. When

you this page you'll see a textfield with default file extensions, just

add .php to the field.

It's been some time but I "think" if you enter 127.0.0.1/default.html in

your browser, and PWS running, you'll open it.

OK.

In your task bar you'll see the icon for PWS. By double clicking that

icon you'll go to the PWS manager. In the "Default Documents" field is

where you ad the extension type of .php for PWS to parse. For a more

involved explanation with screen shots check this link:

Hope this helps.

I'm not following this thread, but I guess what everybody mean is not

"default.php" but ".php"

Thanks
