Can anyone tell me where I can download the latest version of PHP4 as the
site recommended in the 'Beginning PHP4' - http://php4win.de - is
undergoing maintenance and will be down for 3 weeks!

Thanks

The guys in the other post told me that we can get the stuff from
php.net...

I can't wait 3 weeks for those people to play maintenance. I checked the
book out from the library in Florida and I only have about 1 week to read
it.

I'll keep ya informed on what I'm getting from PHP.net

:)

I've been waiting for an update here but haven't seen one. I went to
PHP.NET and downloaded the PHP 4.2.1 release. My only concern is that the
book states that the software PHP.NET makes available has limited
functionallity. Can anyone tell me if what I got is this limited software
or a full blown package?

Uh... well... php.net is the language's HOME PAGE, so the chances that
they're releasing a version of PHP that's not as enhanced as some other
PHP-related site is really slim, to say the least.

Here's a quote from my previous post on the subject:
"The installer package available from www.php.net/
doesn't install many extensions, but the available
zip file contains all the necessary extension dll's
that you need to do anything in the books and more."

The best thing to do is download the zip file if you plan on using
extensions. There are pretty easy to follow installation instructions
online (and in the zip file) for getting things up and running.

take care,

nik
