beginning_php thread: Changing Index File name

Message #1 by "Edward Shaw" <e.s.shaw@a...> on Thu, 23 May 2002 04:01:46
I have a file called /index.php and want to change it to
make the URL more user friendly. Are there any hazards to
going ahead and doing this? I have an /index.htm for no follow.
I can't see any reason I can't just change the /index.php to
/send.php, but I don't want to mess up the programmer's
carefully constructed system.
Thanks.

It can't get more userfriendly than this if the server is set up right...If
index.php is a default filename, then just typing http://127.0.0.1 should
bring up that page.. (so you don't have to type in
http://127.0.0.1/index.php)
