beginning_php thread: Sessions

Message #1 by "Jon Shoreman" <Jon.Shoreman@b...> on Tue, 28 May 2002 12:03:54
I have installed Apache/PHP/MySQL and all are working.
i.e. I have written a test page in PHP that displays the time, and that
works. I have written a test page in PHP that creates a database, and
that works.

However, I get an error when I try to start a session using session_start
()

"Warning open(/tmp\sess_2dsts67673f3g38337g) failed No such file or
directory (2) in ...."

Any ideas?

Hello Jon,

You need to adjust the session_save path in our php.ini file. I work
on Windows and have mine set as: C:\php\sessiondata

Note that this directory must already exist or else you'll get a lot of
warnings and errors that the session tmp file could not be opened or saved.
