beginning_php thread: Declaring get and post variables

Message #1 by "Paul VandenBosch" <admin@c...> on Fri, 31 Jan 2003 21:20:15 -0500 (EST)
Could someone point me to a page that explains how to declare get and post
variables? I was told that my pages won't work if my webhost upgrades
their version of php, unless I declare variables by type. What is this
type of variable called?

Thanks

Sure thing. Read the manual at
  http://www.php.net/security.registerglobals

and a FAQ type post I made a couple months back:
  http://p2p.wrox.com/archive/beginning_php/2002-11/17.asp

Also, there are literally hundreds of posts about people having problems with
register_globals. Any web search (including one on the p2p list archives) for
"register_globals" should lead you to several hits.

Take care,

Nik
