crystal_reports thread: Paper Fitting

Message #1 by "Keith Lee" <kitleeky@m...> on Fri, 16 Nov 2001 16:45:04 +0800

Hi All,

I'm using VB6 and Crystal Report 8 to develop a Client/Server application.

Using CRViewer to view the report.

Most of our reports are set to "Fanfold US" papersize and "Portrait"

orientation.

Some of the customer want it to be "A4" papersize and "Landscape"

orientation.

This changes is giving us a hard time changing the papersize and also

alignment.

Does Crystal Report (CRViewer) has a feature to "Fit Page" automatically?

Or does anyone has an idea?

TIA

Hi,

You can use CR Sample in folder ..\Crystal Reports\Samples\Code\Visual

Basic\Printer Settings to learn how to change printer settings at run-time.

Thanks for ur reply.

but i have already tried that sample but it's does not able fit

automatically from

A3 to A4 papersize.

my scenario:-

I have a report in A3 papersize which have 13 columns.

Can Crystal Report able to fit the report into an A4 papersize

automatically,

which means all the 13 columns will squeeze into the A4 Papersize ?

I have seen an application done that using powerbuilder 4.

When the report squeeze the report into A4 papersize, the font

for those column will be reduce to fit in. any idea ?

Hi,

In my opinion, You should creat 2 separate CR report files in A4 and A3

size.

At run-time, check for paper size property in current printer setting or ask

user to select a paper size and then reference to suitable report file.

Good luck!

Chieu Trung
