crystal_reports thread: Dynamically changing the connection string to sub reports

Message #1 by "Preethi" <preethi@s...> on Fri, 7 Dec 2001 11:09:05 +0600
Hi All,

I am using crystal reports and SQL Server to get the reports.

I have a development database and many production databases (Different

companies)

I change the connectionstring property to connect to the proper database

during run time.

The problem is the subreports are not connected to the production database.

What is the problem ?

Thanks in Advance for your valuable help

Preethi

Hi,

Solution 1: Have you checked the rights? Assigned proper uid, pwd?

Solution 2: Can you show a sample of your code trying to do this?

Yes,

I have checked even in the same server (different database) with the same

username and password

Form the front end (VB) I send the Connectionstring property to change the

connection.

The main report connects to new database and gives the results. But the sub

report still connected to the old (design time) database.

At present I connect manually to each database in design time and save as a

seperate report file.

How can I connect the sub report to the new database?

Preethi
