crystal_reports thread: Counting records

Message #1 by carl@c... on Thu, 4 Apr 2002 11:57:25
Hi,

How do I count records when there is a group? e.g

I have 3 records for vehicle reg A1, 4 for A2 and 5 for A3. When I group
the records I have one line on the report for each vehicle reg number.
What I also want to display is the amount of records for that vehicle reg
e.g

A1 3
A2 4
A3 5

but what I am getting at the moment is:

A1 12
A2 12
A3 12

12 is the total number of records. I have created a formula field which
says count(vehicle_reg) and put on my group footer. What am I doing wrong?

Cheers

Carl,
1. Group by Vehicle Reg
2. In Details have the records for the individual items
3. Click on your item (in design view) and insert summary
count for the Vehicle Reg group(probably group 1)
