crystal_reports thread: Physcial Database not found

Message #1 by Anil Kumar <empire_india2002@y...> on Mon, 21 Oct 2002 07:57:21 -0700 (PDT)
hi everyone,

I am using Crystal Reports 8.5 and calling it form
ASP.
I have used ADO for some reports and For some reports
I am supposed to use ODBC with DSN Connection of
Microsoft Sql Server,
When I call the report generated with ADO the report
is working fine, but when I call a report created in
ODBC DSN, it works fine where Crystal reports is
installed. If i run the application where Crystal
reports is not installed I get the "Physical Database
not found" though I have created the DSN in the
server. I was able to find out that p2sodbc.dll and
p2lodbc.dll is required for odbc connection but when I
try to register the dll I get an error statement
"enttry point not found", if i just place the dll with
out registring and restart the system and call the
report still i get the same place. can any one help
me.

regards
Suresh

I have a problem, I am gettting an error "Phycial
Database Not found"

I had same problem two months ago. I used odbc, but my application was
written in vb.
I just put the p2sodbc.dll in windows system folder without registered it on
my client pc.

But, you can check the dll requirement to be installed on the client
(runtime distribution file) in file : Runtime.hlp on folder
C:\Program Files\Seagate Software\Crystal Reports\Developer Files\Help

Hi

I am using the following code

Option Explicit
Public crystal_report_application As New CRAXDRT.Application
Public the_crystal_report As New CRAXDRT.Report
Global Const dll_name As String = "p2ssql.dll"

the_crystal_report.databases.tables(1).setlogoninfo
"Sever_name","Database_name","user_id","password"

this line of code works fine for all tables in different databases on
different servers.

Hi Guys,

Thank u all for the support, I was able to solve the
problem. I read a document which informed
"Requirements for Crystal Reports if ODBC Used"
"1)If ODBC is used the SQL Client is a must"

I just wanted to know is this a must

Suresh
