proasp_codeclinic thread: CDONTS sending confim message problem

Message #1 by "henry" <hbenveni@r...> on Tue, 17 Apr 2001 03:46:54
Hmmmm.. i think i got what you are doing.

you would need to access the location of the current data. if that is sql
then access it from there.

i do this: (assuming you allready have the rs open, and the vars dimed')

strbody = "The details of your order on <date> you ordered:"
strbody = strbody & ObjRs("orderprod")
strBody = strbody & "Thank you, Please direct any quyestions to our support
team at support@b..."

set confirm = Server.Createobject("CDONTS.NewMail")

	With Confirm
		.to = objRS("emailaddress")
		.From = "support@b..."
		.Subject = "The details of your order"
		.Body = strbody
	End With

Subject: CDONTS sending confim message problem

I am new to the board, however did really appreciated the help recieved in
my previous thread
I have decided in my case to utilize CDONTS to retrieve a confirm order
and send to user a confim note
this is my CDONTS:

MyCDONTSMail3.AttachFile Server.MapPath("/main/aspTrial/confirmation.asp")

it works well (partially!!)in getting the confirmation file and sendintg
it to the user
Here is the problem :
if sent in a form of ASP the attached file cannot be opened in a regular
browser, if sent as a .txt it will show the whole code but not the user's
how may I manage for the user to get a confirm order note with details
do I have to do it through SQL (which I try to avoid in the actual state)
this is the confirm note code:
<! DOCTYPE html
PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transactional//EN"
<html xmlns =http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml
xml : lang="en" lang="en">

<h1>Merci beaucoup, votre reservation est maintenant guarentie</h1>
<h3>Joyeuse Paques</h3>

Dim strchoice, strpreference, strdeparture
strchoice = Request.Form("choice")
strpreference  = Request.Form("preference")
strdeparture  = Request.Form("departure")

Response.Write "<br>"
Response.Write strchoice
Response.Write "</br>"

Response.Write "<br>"
Response.Write strpreference
Response.Write "</br>"

Response.Write "<br>"
Response.Write strdeparture
Response.Write "</br>"

as you have certainly noticed I am fairly new to ASP
will learn hopefully!
