proasp_codeclinic thread: help on data merging in winword using asp

Nanda,

I was struggling with this question, too, a few weeks ago. This is what I
found out till now:
I asume that you want to get the data from a database that resides on a
remote server.
That means you have to*talk* with the database over TCP/IP.
As far as I know there is not a simple way to do this with an access
database.
With SQL server however its not a problem. In office 2000 you have to make a
ODBC connection to the SQL server on the remote machine. Then make a merge
in Word with MSQuery.
In Office XP you can make a office data connection to the SQL server.

Regards,

Gerhard Wentink
