So get them to type in a few letters...and submit the form, and execute an
SELECT field1, field2, field3...fieldn
WHERE field1 LIKE '%" & strSearchCriteria & "'"
and put that into an ADO recordset for display on the screen...
The other option that you listed (the user being able to type in a few
letters and all the records matching would automagically appear is not
possible using just HTTP - since the Web is stateless - as soon as the
server has sent the webpage to the client, it forgets all about it. Unless
you use something that maintains a persistant connection (ActiveX control,
or Java applet) you need to resubmit the form.
