proasp_howto thread: problems serving files

Message #1 by "Paul Rogers" <progers@f...> on Wed, 28 Aug 2002 15:31:16
It does(did) it with both, I discovered it was IIS lockdown tool
preventing the transport of .exe's too and from the server.

Subject: [proasp_howto] problems serving files

Hi,
Probably not the right place for this, but here goes..

I've got a really annoying problem with IIS. It won't serve exe's or
zip's. If you navigate to the directory where the exe is(with directory
browsing enabled), you can see the file, but when you click on it, it
says
page cannot be displayed. I'm wondering if it's yet another security
patch
from MS that knackers IIS. Has anyone else heard of/experienced this
problem before. Just for the record, there's no AV or proxy running.

TIA

Paul
