Default backwards compatibility APS.NET

So I got this book "Beginning APS.NET 4.5.1. in C# and VB" and its based on VS2013 and asp.net 4.5.1
I only have Visual Studio 2010 and 2015, planning on using the later, which comes with asp.net 4.6.
Are there some things I should be aware of, or will everything work the same with the newer version ?When I run the app on a client I get an Error that .NET 4.0.30319 is missing. Windows Update however only gives me the option to install .NET 4.5.2 or 4.6.1. Will the app run on 4.5.2 or do I have to manually install 4.0.30319?
