Default access databases and dropdownlists

Hello,

I'd like to populate dropdownlists with the values in my columns so my database can be filtered. Whenever I use the SELECT wizard builder it doesn't see any of the separate columns - it only gives me the * option to choose the whole table. Any idea how to fix this? I tried using a mysql db but somehow got messed up with the connections or something because I can't figure out how to make it see my db when I want to add a connection.

Thank you.
