I'm using a Mac with Safari and IE, and when I try to run even the code that is offered for the first web page on page 19, I'm getting this at the beginning of my page: "

I get slashes between paragraphs and I get "\\\}" at the end of the page. I've carefully paid attention and I'm sure I've typed everything right.... what's the deal? HELP!

Are you using wordpad or something to edit your code. This looks like an rtf document! Do file | save as | plain(or ascii) text.
