question on page 145 and 146 of book

In paragraph 3 of page 145 the book says to creat a hidden form and to creat a button inorder to chage booking details. However in the next page showing the example found on 146 there is no submit button rather it looks like a link to the change booking details page. What is the correct one to use ? a submit button in the form or a link to the page.
