Default pg 136+ Hiding and Displaying Text and Inserting the Record

No matter how many times I have attempted to do this section, it just doesn't work. According to the text, depending on whether the email address is in the records, only the appropriate section of the page should show up. When I followed the steps, I get right back to the add user page. I added the Show if Recordset is/is not Empty as indicated.

Also, the book does not state where to add the hidden field. Does it matter where it is placed and does this have any effect on whether or not the appropriate sections of the book a room page shows up based on the email entry?
