Default HTML to xls file conversion - SSIS

Hi,
we have deployed a ETL based SSIS package in development, test and production environments.
and we have observed html (4mb size) to xls file conversion takes more than 20 mins in test and prod. but where as in development is hardly 60 -80 secs.

noticed the Excel version in test and prod is MS Office Excel 2007 and in development is MS Office Excel 2003.

is this the reason for more process time in test & prod? or for any better ideas please suggest.

thanks
Arun
