Default Professional IBM WebSpher -Threads in EJB Containr

Hi,

"Professional IBM WebSphere 5.0" book on page 508 mentions that threads can not be created in EJB container starting with WAS 5, becasuse WAS 5 prohibits access to Java Thread API. But it also mentions that:

"Nonetheless, WebSphere extends some leniency by allowing you to request additional permissions. Application administrators can audit this and decide whether to allow applications that request this additional permission to be deployed."

Would you please let me know what these permissions are, where are they set and is it possible to set these permissions in WAS 5 base version?

Your help is highly appreciated.

Thanks and have a good day
Harish
