Default Initial setup sets up MS Vis Web Developer NOT VB!

I just installed (actually it installed itself without asking me anything) the CD that came with the book "Visual Basic 2005 Express Edition Starter Kit" and the only thing I can now find in my Start->Programs is "Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition Beta".

Am I going nuts or is something wrong, here? I certainly can't start using the book along with this thing.

Thx - Geoffrey

Hi Geoffrey,

Unfortunately the discs were built in a separate process and I am not sure what's on them. I'll ask the Wrox editors to clarify the contents, but in the meantime are you able to check the CD's contents to see if there is a Visual Basic Express installer present?

Maybe if you could copy a full directory listing here I might be able to point you to the correct file.

Regards
Andrew

Hi Geoffrey-
I installed the CD and everything looked fine to me. You might try the full installation process again. It didn't automatically install the software for me. I had to go through a series of steps, and then it took about 20 minutes. Please let me know if you don't have any luck a second time. Thank you!

Hello,
I just purchased your book and I ran the installation from the CD. It installed Visual Basic 2005 Express just fine. The first exercise in chapter one says to install Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition "exactly the same as what has been outlined here, but it will install Web Developer instead..." Perhaps I'm missing something but I don't think Visual Basic Web Developer 2005 Express is on this CD.

Please Advise.
