I am using the book "Visual Basic 2005 Express Edition Starter Kit" by Andrew Parsons.

Ch. 9 Page 191 Step 12

When I try to add the Amazon Web Service using Project -> Add Web Reference and type the following URL:

http://webservices.amazon.com/AWSECo...ceService.wsdl

I get the following error:

There was an error downloading 'http://webservices.amazon.com/AWSECommerceService/AWSECommerceService.wsdl'.

The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a receive.

Unable to read data from the transport connection: A system call that should never fail has failed.

I would appreciate it if someone could help solve the problem/error.

I got the same message. I went and found the site in my web browser then copied and pasted it and it worked. You may have to be logged into Amazon with your username and password in order to get it.
