Default Session variable

Can anyone tell me how to use session variables and where should i assign the variables like

session["Variable name"] = value where should i give this? in Application layer?

Its quite urgent can anyone help me.

You can assign the session objects from anywhere in your code as and when it is required. You can use the Session Object for this purpose. the session object is available in the .aspx code benid.

I have given in aspx.cs as

session.add("_announcements_director",value);

is this right?

yes that is right.

You can also give as
   Session["_announcements_director"] = value;
