design schemes

I started this book this week and have downloaded a design schemes for 2000 from the authors site.

All seems to go well until I finish when i get a compile error "CHR$ not found". I have checked the references and all seems to be well but I am a relative novice so could be missing the obvious. I am using office 2003

I don't know much myself johngunn but I bet if you check, you are missing a reference library object --look in tools in the VBA Editor when the error occurs. Whatever is missing will be described there. You can do a file search on your whole drive and see if its misplaced. Check Bob Hansen's reply on my other thread . . .

A misleading error message highlighing a perfectly innocent string manipulation function generally results from a missing (or wrong version) reference. Check your references in the Tools|References dialog, and see if any are marked MISSING. If so, uncheck them and check the version of that library on your computer.
