New Edition of Visual C++??
I find there seems to be a newly published version of Visual C++ ( in June 2003 )

But there is nothing about it on the website?? Why is that??
Has this book actually been published yet??

The June 2003 version of this book under ISBN 0764543881 is simply a Wiley printing of this book. There is not a new edition out at this time.

So there is NO difference???

No update what so ever??

iwod July 9th, 2003 11:54 PM

and things to add.......... if there is no difference than i am not planning to buy.......

But are there any plan to update this book to Visual C++ .net 2003??

It is under consideration for a refresh, but nothing is planned for the immediate future. There is no difference in the content of the two books, just the ISBN. Keep watching www.wrox.com for future updates.

sorry......... the above was only for testing... ( no edit function on forum?? )

Since the book has published for a long time already i am sure you have a HUGE amount of suggestions already. And i am sure it is in need as well as M$ is pushing very hard on .Net dev.....

My opions is that to increse a 1xx page or so to include more info. I really don't mind the book to be thinker since it include everything i need, all the way from c++ to window programing.

( Or add more pages and split it into two part?? )

If ther book was to be keep as one part. Than i would rather it update on .net IDE and native C++........ coz i don't like manged extension...

But it has to include those extensions than spliting the book into 2 part/edition will be good. It could also mean that it still carry on the tradition to cover everything all the way from Dos C++ > window C++ and managed extension. It would also give you a hundreds more page to add depth to the book...

All of the books that we purchased have been reprinted under our ISBN and our layout. There have been no changes made to the books at this time. There is no need to purchase the reprinted book.

I have the 2003 version of the book and find that the errata listed on this site is for the 1998 version. It doesn't always match. What is the previous version year from the 2003 book?
