Select the correct version of Access 97/2000
below is a small part of my code which opens a specific database 2000 but for some reason access 97 object opens causing my code to bug. Is there a way to specify which version of access you need to have open using vb?

Dim app As Access.Application
   Set app = CreateObject("access.application")
      app.Visible = True
       app.OpenCurrentDatabase ("C:Pending_Clear_ADS.mdb")

had a similar issue when I was trying to automate XL from Access, I needed to change the REFERENCES used by the code for each release of Office so that it would work, I am sure that there should be a way to programatically do it, though I ended up with an Office 97 and an Office XP release.

I usually use Excel - when it is generally preferable to set up using the oldest version likely to be in use. MS Office is usually backward-compatible.
