info about checkbox

i need quick information about input type=checkbox
what are possible values for attribute value and attribute checked
what value is passed 1) if it is checked and 2) if it is not checked ?

Value can be anything you want, a string, a number etc and is the value that is passed to the server when the checkbox is checked and submitted to somewhere such as an ASP page.

CHECKED is a boolean, true or false, if true then the checkbox is currently checked, and vice versa.

If you are writing traditional HTML then checked is normally a standalone attribute. This is a short form of checked="checked" which is what you would use in XHTML or in an XSLT stylesheet that was converting to (X)HTML.
