changing a link's text color

In Dreamweaver MX 2004, I have set the page's link, vlink and alink color values to gold. (I set the link's rollover color to red). So now the default color for the links on the page is gold, (rollover color is red). But is there a way I can override the page's default gold color for specific links on the page? I wish to change one link on the page to black, but Dreamweaver continues to make it gold.

Fyi. I'm learning Dreamweaver MX 2004 from "Beginning Dreamweaver MX 2004" by Wrox, authors: Brown, Spaanjaars, Marks.

Thank.

Hi there,

Great book choice... ;)

You can override the style of the link in at least two ways:

1. Create a separate class like MyLink and apply it to the link:

<style type="text/css">
.MyLink
{
  color: #000000;
}
</style>

...

<a href="somewhere" class="MyLink">Some text</a>

2. Use an in-line style:

<a href="somewhere" style="color: #000000;">Some text</a>
