Login failed for user 'NT INSTANS\NETWORK SERVICE'

Hi everybody!

I´ve got a problem trying to connect to my SQL Server. This is when I'm trying to access account.aspx or admindefault.aspx from login.aspx. I'm getting the following error:

Login failed for user 'NT INSTANS\NETWORK SERVICE'

I know that I can't grant access for this account in SQL Server, but how do I get rid of it in my application? I'm not using this account in my web.config! So, where do the application get this user from?

This must be the account that ASP.NET is using on your system, specified in machine.config.

You should be able to grant that account access in SQL Server, but you can also set up impersonation if you want to use a different account.

You could also use Windows authentication to use a user's own account if you have a company-specific network webserver.

Please get a good intro book on ASP.NET. The book "ASP.NET Website Programming Prob-Design-Solution" is not an intro book.

The network service account is the default ASP.NET for Win 2k3.

Thanks guys! It worked up fine with impersonation in web.config.
