Search Controls on a Form

Hi,

I want to check the controls on my form to test if there is data in any of them as if there isn't, there is no point in sending a request to the server when a user presses the button on my form. I have text boxes on my form that I want to search through. What's the best way to do it?

Thanks.

you can test each textbox to see if it has text OR make at least one a required field and use a required field validator

Hy,

U can use JavaScript to chk for validations as these will be
checked on the client machine itself.
whereas ASP Validation controls will carry out there purpose
on the server. And as an effect the code will be checked before
being sent to the server for processing.
