Conversion Question

I'm converting a database from Access 2.0 to 2003. This database has
some attached tables. What happens to the attached tables during the
conversion process? I would hope they would remain untouched. Does
anyone know??

Thanks,
DL

By attached, do you mean "linked?" If so, then if the links are broken, just reattach them after the conversion.

In any event, when you convert the database, you will not be allowed to save over the old version, so experiment and see what happens. Just rename the new database with a 2003 added to the name.

When you convert a database, it only converted the objects within the MDB. It will not open the "linked to" file (may be lots of formats) and try to convert it. You have to convert each file separately.

I would highly recommend that you make copies of all the files and test the conversion process. Then open up the front end and test everything (linked to test database) to be sure everything still works. If macros were used in Access 2, they may need to be changed.

Test, Test, Test....
