Can't connect to an oracle obdc database
I am using access to import data from an oracle database, to perform some queries.
I was able to do that a couple of days ago, but now I haven't been able to bring the data back to a table in access. I am not getting any useful error message; it only says there is no "error message for this error". So that kind of keeps me from going anywhere. I have also noticed that there are some tables (but not many), which I can bring back the data. But not that particular one, which I actually need. I have checked the table owners, but they are the same between the tables. I am using Windows XP, Access 2002, and Oracle Client 9i. The Oracle database version is: 8.1.7.4 Any ideas? Thanks. I'm not an Oracle guru, just access some data and write code to get to the data and add more, but I believe you might be having an issue since you are using a 9i client and hitting an 8 database. Like I said, I don't know enough to assist in a resolution but I think it may have something to do with the configuration of the connection strings. Other than that, I would suggest hitting the Oracle forums if nobody else here can assist.

Thank you for your suggestion. I have posted the same message on the oracle forum, and so far nobody has replied.
It blows my mind though, how I can import some tables, but not some other ones. Does anybody have any ideas? Daniel |
