Put a Video Clip on Web

Hi All,

I have a recorded digital video clip that I want to put on the web. How difficult is it to do. AND if I want users to be able to Pause, Stop, fast forward, etc. Is that difficult?

NOTE: I [u]DON'T</u> want users to have to download the whole video and then open it with video viewer(Window Media, QuickTime, etc.). I want them to be able to click 'play' on the web page itself.

I can't think of any forum that I can post a subject similiar to this, so I am posting it here. Hope everyone can help. Please let me know if there is a different forum that I can post.

Thank you.

Leon

Do you have Flash Professional? What format is your video in or can you export it to, if possible you want FLV.

If you have Flash an easy way to do it is convert your video to an FLV format. Flash then has some FLV Playback and Media components. You basically will just tell Flash were the video is.

You can also create a custom player using Flash's VideoPlayback Class, this will require some programming and understand of Actionscript.

One way or another user will have to download the video, using Flash it will directly load onto the webpage rather than an external player.

The first place you could check into is http://www.macromedia.com and do a search for Flash video. You can also check out http://www.actionscript.org or
http://www.flashkit.com/
