Chapter 18 Create new database

When creating a new SQL Server Database as in the Try It Out on page 612 of the book 'Beginning Visual C# 2005' I get the next error:

"An error occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open an connection to SQL Server)"

Does anyone know what this error message means and more importantly how I can solve this problem.

Thanks,
Alex

I searced the MSDN website and found the next solution:

"I was conneting to <machine name> as my server... after changing it to <machine name>\SQLExpress it started working fine."

This works for me.

I tried localhost\sqlexpress and found that that also works.
