IIS 5.1 on Windows XP error

Cassini works good (finally), but I keep getting this on IIS:
ERROR: 400.100 Bad Request
HResult: 0x80004005
Source: Microsoft SQL isapi extension
Description: Query not specified

using SQL Server 2005 Standard and VS Pro 2005

Any ideas? How do I get more details?

Thanks, Brian

Sincerely,
Brian

for some reason the sql isapi ext error occurs when the virtual directory is made from IIS Virtual Directory Management for SQLXML 3.0 tool. If I delete it from that tool, and add it using the IIS snap-in, all works well. I was able to duplicate this error on two machines, always the sqlxml 3.0 virtual directories have the isapi extension error.

I'll post this here again with the subject of "Microsoft SQL isapi extension Error" so it's more noticeable to others who may have the error.

Sincerely,
Brian

Brian,

I see you got a reply on the asp.net forums. Did the FAQ at http://sqlxml.org/faqs.aspx?faq=79 help at all?

Curious, Dan

I have VS 2005 Express and SQL 2005 Express.

I was also getting the error:

ERROR: 400.100 Bad Request
HResult: 0x80004005
Source: Microsoft SQL isapi extension
Description: Query not specified

After deleting the virtual directory created with mmc (SQLXML 3.0) and recreating it with IIS it now works.

BTW, you can modify the properties to the Start menu and add System Administrative Tools to the Start menu and/or All Programs. One of the tools in it is Internet Information Services aka IIS.
