DB content migration from Sharepoint 2003 to MOSS

I have created a new MOSS 2007 portal, now I want to migrate document libraries and user and their permission from SharePoint 2003 to new portal in MOSS 2007. I only want to migrate document libraries and Users, not the complete portal.

Can anyone tell me what are the steps that are required to migrate document libraries and user and their permission from SharePoint 2003 to new portal in MOSS 2007?

Thanks,

Bilal

Bilal,
That's quite a lot to fit into a post..
Can I suggest a couple of places on the web and a few books?

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa902526.aspx will take you to Microsoft's web pages for this.
Two books I'm reading that may be useful are:
"Inside Windows Sharepoint Services 3.0" by Microsoft Press.
"Inside Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server 2007" by Microsoft Press.
There still don't seem to be many books out there that are all that helpful, hint Wrox..

You want it in half the time? That'll be twice as much...

Bilal:
I think the Wrox book that might be of most use to you for this is "Real World SharePoint 2007: Indispensable Experiences From 16 MOSS and WSS MVPs." Chapter 14 "Upgrading from SPS 2003 to MOSS 2007 using the Gradual Method" written by Shane Young will probably address the kinds of issues you'd face like this where you're migrating rather than overwriting.
