.Exe file of Access Application
Hello Frnds,

I have developed one application in MS Access 2000. Is it possible to make .exe(not .mde) file of this application? Please help me.

You cannot make an .exe from an Access MDB.

("Compile" for VBA code does not create an .exe.)

If you want to distribute your MDB to users who do not have a full copy of Access on their systems you can distribute with Access Runtime license. For A2K, this license is part of Office Development Edition- now out of print/distribution, but you can sometimes find it on Ebay, etc.

Hi Loralee,
Thanks for your response. But have you seen microsoft's sample database like Contact Managment etc.? If you open it for the first time, an wizard open to install that particular application on your system. My intention is to create such an wizard. Can you help?

Office Development Edition comes with a Package and Deployment wizard that allows you to create an installation package that contains your MDB and any dependent files. Once you run the Wizard you can create the "package" that executes and installs your mdb. (Is that what you meant by "executable"? If so, Sorry- I misunderstood. I thought you were wanting your mdb to "run on its own without Access".)
When you use the Package and Deployment Wizard you can choose whether you want to include Access Runtime in the package.
