Where should I get PHP?

The Beginning PHP4 book recommends getting PHP from http://php4win.de/ but that site is down. The book says that the php.net download "doesn't support all the features we need", so what should I do? Thanks from someone just starting out.

I think the author of the book really really really regrets mentioning that website, as it has been down for quite some time, and lots of people have commented on it.

The best, and official place for PHP is at http://www.php.net where you can download the most recent version, 4.3.2

I haven't read the book so I can't be sure you don't get all the stuff you need mentioned in the book, but most people can apparently live without it as the site is down ;)

Cheers,

Imar

Hi 80sDweeb,

not sure what you mean by 'all features we need', but http://www.php.net would in any case be a great starting point.

Cheers,
Frank

I believe "all features we need" is a reference to PEAR, which now is included with PHP4.3.X. If you download from the PHP.NET site you will be okay. If you run into a problem in the future just come back here and we will work it out with you.

Best Regards,
