We NEED to discover the WARTS ('n' all)

All,

as an excercise in futility [:-)], thought it'd be useful to gather some stats re userbase, post size, article viewcount (by day etc..) etc across production tbh sites out there.

before asking for any such info, thought it'd be good form to ask what questions you'd like answered before we commence. this could be a very useful 'tool' for discovering any pitfalls in the tbh architecture (and i have to declare here that such is my enthusiasm for tbh that i really do want to find it's warts 'n' all).

so, ideas for metrics, other than my simplistic ones above welcome, as well as horror stories from the depths of despair !!! :)

kherrerrab - in a word (or more) i'd like to discover how many users current tbh sites have and what frequency of hits they have with these users. also, i'd like to know what issues crop up (i.e. scalability, extensibility etc) when new functionality is required. and finally, i'd like to know what things users would like to 'discover' about their tbh sites. i honestly dont know how many users (that read this) have sites based on tbh that are generating > 5QPS (5 queries per second), so this is of general interest i think...

since my site has a lot of info on classic aircooled vw it has many visitors but only a few people posts and writes something in the site. I think they are not familiar with the site. Many users are familiar with forums like this or phpbb forums king or SMF.

I now that many users of my site just register to watch some articles since they never come back.

kherrerab - that in itself [I now that many users of my site just register to watch some articles since they never come back], is a great statistic and should be recorded (by you on your site).

this is EXACTLY, the kind of info we need to look at (from tbh and general view) and disseminate.

a good change could be a quick reply window like the one on this forum.

i think if you clear the cache on reply/edit, then you've got this :). PM would be a great 'base' addition, but that is perhaps moving away from what this thread is discussing as tbh exists now ;)

Mine has two visitors for the moment. The missus and me, and it's slow as hell ;)

Debug is set to false, by the way ;) I informed the people at my hosting provider to look into it.

I expect several hundred users when we go live, though. We'll soon have about 2 dozen or so running around as a test team.

Will keep you updated.
