Install VS2005 on Windows Vista Home PremiumWindow
i have Windows Vista Home Premium on my laptop.
Can i install VS2005 on it or do i have to upgrade the operating system to do the same,
as was the case with Windows XP Home, which had to be upgraded to Win XP Pro.
Also i couldnt find Add/Remove Programs in Windows Vista Home Premium, from where i could install IIS to it.

I am not sure about Vista Home. I know that VS2K5 can be installed on Vista Business for sure but, I imagine, if you had this issue with XP Home you are going to have the same issue with Vista Home as well.

Add/Remove programs no longer exists it now labeled "Programs and Features" in the Control Panel. Also, "Add Windows Components" is also gone from this dialog and instead you will want to "Turn Windows Features On/Off".

Here's an article with directions for installing IIS 7.0 on Vista Home Premium:

And yes, Vista Home Premium is a supported OS for VS 2005, here are the steps you want to follow in which order for installing VS 2005, VS2005 SP1, then the Vista update for SP1!

Visual Studio 2005 includes a development web server so you don't technically need to have IIS on your machine.
