Windows Mobile 6 to use WiFi
Hi! I am currently programming a Windows Mobile 6 phone to be able to SMS via WiFi. It's like sending messages through the WiFi network. However, I have some questions here that I don't seem to be able to find the right codings for. Could someone please advise me? Thanks!

1) How can I get the phone to use the internal WiFi?
2) I have got alot of low level programming where the message is like marshalled before it is sent through the network, but is there a way way I can just directly send? Security at the moment here is not a very big issue.
3) I have asked around, alot of people prefer using XML in storing the message in the phone, is there other ways I can do it?

Thank you so much!

I'm not especially good with mobile technology, but I've programmed something similar on one point...

2) I've built a contact form in C# and there was a lot of "marshalling" to set things up with the server to write and then send out the email. So it doesn't really surprise me that you have to do a fair amount of work just to send the message. However, if you can build your "sender" as a class and then send messages through it, you will have built exactly what you're looking for and you'll never have to do it again.

Also, I would imagine it is highly dependent on the technology of the cell phone company that is sending the messages. There is not a lot of standards in the telecom industry which is one of the reason what you're doing is so difficult.

Hope that helps, and good luck!

Hi chroniclemaster1

Thank you for sharing & also your advice. However, I don't think I will be interfering with the telcom as I have my own WiFi network. It will just be between those mobile phones within the coverage of the WiFi network. And all the messages sent will be using this Wifi network. Another 1 question is that, have you done extracting the phone number that the SIM card is carrying?

Thanks once again!
