flXHR issues

1. In Chapter 3 : (Page 43). while setting up flXHR, its advised to use a strophe.flxhr.js - which cannot be easily found. I searched and got it from matjack's github project.

2. When I completed coded, I was getting an error.
"flXHR.js Uncaught Error: flXHR dependencies failed to load."

Hence, I downloaded the code from ch03 and then set it up. Only to get the same error over again.

Any clues on why this is happening would be helpful.

Thanks

1. The Strophe.js release package should have strophe.flxhr.js in the plugins directory. It should also be included in the book's sample code in the scripts directory.

2. You will need the flXHR code and flash object, which you can get from flxhr.flensed.com. This should also be in the book's sample code available from professionalxmpp.com (via GitHub) or the Wrox book page.

If those are in place and you still get the error, let me know, and I can suggest some things to try.

hello. I am a Chinese who buy your book,a wonderful one!
i do have some questions while i am trying to program the hello program.(chap 3)
here is the situation:
i set up the openfire on my own computer, and i created a user with the JID: zhengqilong@127.0.0.1
i change your code to ( var conn = new Strophe.Connection("http://127.0.0.1:7070/http-bind/"); ) [hello.js]
i am 100% sure that i had made all the js file included. while i tried to connect to the openfire, it returned a status, the value = 1, which means 'connecting', then nothing happened.
and the firebug (a plugin in firefox) presented a error: flXHR dependencies failed to load

this makes me crazy, thank you for your time.

Don't use flXHR anymore. It was abandoned by the original author and is not needed now with almost everything supporting CORS.
