Ver 4.0 vs Ver 3.5

Besides the chapter on Jquery, is there much difference beween the 4.0 and 3.5 versions of the book. I currently own the 3.5 version and am considering 4.0. I never really had a chance to really get into the 3.5 version. I upgraded to VS2010 Premium from VS2008. I am wanting to learn how to program in asp.net. Should I start learning in 3.5 and then once I feel comfortable move to your 4.0 version of the book or should I start right off the back in 4.0. I found that my host is running 3.5 as they say that is the current standard, but I have 4.0 installed on my local machine. So not sure if to go the 3.5 or the 4.0 route...

Thanks

Personally, I would start learning .NET 4 as it's the most recent version and has new and better features and fixes than 3.5. Besides the chapter on jQuery, the new book has a chapter on the ADO.NET Entity Framework replacing the one on LINQ to SQL.

However, if you already have the 3.5 book, you could also decide to get Professional ASP.NET 4 instead and use the two side by side. Most of the stuff discussed in the 3.5 version still works in VWD 2010.

But if you're really brand new to .NET, never did a lot with the 3.5 version and think the Pro edition is a bit too much, I would start with Beginning ASP.NET 4.

Cheers,

Imar
