chapter 12 code unavailable to download
Hi there,

I was wondering why the code for chapter 12 in this book is unavailable for download (i.e. it's not included in the downloaded zip file)? It states in the book that the classes used are available on wrox.com but they are not.

Can you help?

Thanks, Andy

Message for Wrox:

I am extremely unimpressed that no comment has been made on my observation that the source code is not available for this chapter, as it states clearly in the book that it is 'available for download on wrox.com'.

Availability of source code is one of the main reasons that make a book like this worth buying. How do I get my money refunded?

Your customer service record on this issue means that I don't really expect a reply, however if I can put-off anyone for buying your substandard products then at least I will have saved someone else the frustration I have endured.

I agree Chapter 12 missing from downloaded zip
I agree that Chapter 12 should be included that's what we paid for when we purchased the book. It was one of the reasons why I purchased the book. The title states: "Professional..." it should also be professional and if the code was not available at the time the book was on the shelf and email should be sent to registered book owners that there was a delay and the chapter is available. How do I know that after I type-in all the code it will work and not waste my time.

Disappointment in code:
I also found one other issue with the book, over all it's good it's my second book on this subject and a bit better then the other book I purchased on Android alone. When it comes to the new tablet platform with touch, swipe, pinch, zoom etc. how do we get these all to work together in one app. when the examples are minimized and not showing later in the book how these may work collectively together in a professional app. As a professional Flash /AS3 developer I'm sure I'll figure it out but it's a disappointment in the book.

Chapter 12
I have to agree with the other comments people made regarding Chapter 12. Chapter 12 was a major disappointment. I as well buy books such as this one for project examples to help me understand and work through the subject matter. Flash working with Android and SQL is a very interesting topic to me and I am very disappointed in how Chapter 12 was set out. Chapter 12 does not relate SQL to Flash; it is just a general discussion about SQL, which I can get in any book unrelated to Flash, which is contrary to the reason I book a book about Flash and its relationship to Android.

The book is very good through Chapter 10, but it appears the author just got tired or lazy thereafter. I would prefer all project examples be developed from scratch with all code available. I had to look and find the "greensock" code; there was no mention in the book about downloading it and it wasn't available on the web site. I had to download the "Minimal Comps", which the author directed its location in the book, but why not included it with other code on the author's site. I had to search out the "Droid Sans" fonts, so certain project examples would work. And the "AndroidAppTemp" files with the "KevinHoyt" AS files were lazy; the buttons and other objects should have been developed from scratch with available code, to make it easier to follow along with project examples.
