Wrap text with merged cells

i have two merged cells in a row. I have set the wrap text property. But wrap text doesn't work. If it is not a merged cell wrap text works fine. Could some one help me with a way out to use wrap text property with merged cells.

Help will be appreciated.

Hi,

You can wrap text by using ALT+ENTER in a cell.
For example:
This is<- Here press ALT+ENTER

Thanks for your reply. That works fine if the cells are not merged. But i have merged cells and moreover it is a VBA application and i want to setup in a way that it should'nt be a manual way.

What's wrong with your version of Excel? Wrapping works with merged cells!

Try this as an example:
Type QWERTYUIOPASDFGHJKLZXCVBNM into cell A1
select cells A1 and B1
choose Format > Cells
on the Alignment tab check both Merge cells and Wrap text
Click OK

what happens?

That's really strange.. I tried the same but wrap text text doesn't. work. Yes, if i dont have merged cells then wrap text works perfect. I m working with office XP. Meanwhile i shall try to find some other version and see if it works. Thanks!
