I believe they are being used as part of the text...

I believe they are being used as part of the text you should see.
for example the line
echo "Options :-" will echo all characters in quotes, so you will see

Options :-

it is just text,...

I contacted Customer Service today and explained...

I contacted Customer Service today and explained the issue to them.
They said they will check on it and get back to me.
When I hear from them I will post it here.
Hopefully they are not too...
