I've seen those messages and usually after 2nd try, they stop. I suspect the error pops up because the site is not...

Just to be 100% sure we set the criteria correctly, enter the criteria as this way:

[yourColumnName]=[pOrg] OR [pOrg] IS NULL

When you save the query and open it, it will look a bit different...

I just tested that and indeed a default value is set. I'm fairly sure that was not the case when we were writing the book. Yes, you could use "=#1900-01-01 00:00:00#".
