If you try to compile the problem from the 2010 code for CStack with Visual studio 2008 you must add #define nullptr 0 before class CStack since nullptr was not a standard until 2009.

After further reading, I find the author intended it to be the first way although he said it would produce compiler warnings and would be much better to enter as I did in the second example.
