ado.recorset.filter "like" trouble

If I use this code, Error 3001 is shown.

mystring = "*pub"
Adodc1.Recordset.Filter = "name LIKE '" & mystring & "'"

I know '*' and '%' at the first mke this trouble.
My question is how I can...
