Default VB to ASP 3.0

We have a VB 6 app that opens MS Word documents and fills in certain portions of the document by populating text form fields in MS Word.

We want to do the same thing using ASP 3.0. Is it possible? If so, what steps need to be taken? Does MS word need to be installed on our web server?

If someone can help me out I'd greatly appreciate some guidance.

Could you tell a story of what it is you want to do?
